As widely published in the press worldwide, a critical flaw in commonly used software has cybersecurity experts raising alarms and all companies racing to fix the issue. The vulnerability, which was reported late last week, is in Java-based software known as "Log4j" that most organizations use to configure their applications -- and it poses potential risks for much of the internet. This software is used in most PC's, MAC's, cell phones, and smart appliances. Hackers can take control of any device, which uses this software code. Experts predict that this is one of the largest security flaws found so far in our more and more connected world.
We encourage all of our customers to update the web browsers on all of their devices with the latest security patch available. As one example, Chrome released a patch today. Check also for updates for your operating system. We also recommend to contact your software providers to get updates about software vulnerability and maintenance.
